Input	1) Whatever goes into the computer. Input can take a variety of forms -- from commands you enter from the keyboard to data from another computer or device. A device that feeds data into a computer, such as a keyboard or mouse, is called an input device. 2) The act of entering data into a computer.
Output	Anything that comes out of a computer. Output can be meaningful information or gibberish, and it can appear in a variety of forms -- as characters, as pictures, and as printed pages.
Hardware	The physical equipment of the computer system. Any part of a computer system that you can see or touch, such as a keyboard, monitor, mouse, printer, speakers, and so on.
Software	The programs used by a computer
Program	A set of instructions that tells the computer how to do a particular task.
	System Software - Operating System - We use Windows as our operating system; some schools use MAC OS. The operating system runs the computer. It controls all the input, processing, and output of the computer.
	Application Program - software that does a specific job. Examples: Word processing (Word), Spreadsheets (Excel), Presentations or Slide Shows (PowerPoint)
Text	Words, as opposed to graphics
Graphics	Clip art, pictures, drawings, photographs, etc., as opposed to text
